The Replacement

----

In early 2009 I bought a Macbook White to replace my then aging Sony Vaio C13G. It was my first Mac OS X computer after a long series of Windows machines.

I loved it. I loved the simplicity of Mac OS X, and I loved the prettiness of the hardware. The best thing about it was its stability, and most of all, it never once caught viruses, malware or spyware. It was this last factor that hooked me on Macs.

But all good things come to an end, I guess. My Macbook White died after an unfortunate incident.

Old faithful.

So I was left computer-less for awhile. I began looking for a replacement. I needed something portable, so < style="font-weight: bold;"> It also had to be decently powerful, so netbooks were out of the question. After seeing how nice Windows 7 was, I began eyeing some Windows laptops.

Namely the Sony Vaio S series:

Vaios have always looked fucking hot.

And also the Dell M101Z
:

but not in hot pink la, obviously... *whistles*

And most of all, I was attracted to the seriously powerful and small Lenovo Thinkpad Edge 11:
Seriously impressive, gorgeous too.

But then I started thinking.. and I decided I didn't want to use Windows. I didn't want to migrate away from Mac OS X. So I went back to the Apple store site to look.

They had a new Macbook, in white.

But I didn't want my laptop yellowing again. And I read reviews saying that the newer Macbook scratches easily and yellows quickly.

So for the same price*, I bought a Macbook Air, the 11.6" version.

Fast enough, durable, and light as a (relative feather). And though I'm paying dearly for it... well, let's just say I love it, a lot.

:)
